Executive Order 25-10

Today Governor Pillen issued Executive Order 25-10 in which he “…hereby suspend §§81-520.01 (2) and 81-520.04 and direct a statewide suspension of the authority vested in local fire chiefs to waive the open burning ban and suspend all previously issued burn permits due to an enhanced risk of wildfires until midnight May 10, 2025." The following area is affected: West of a line starting at the South Dakota border following U.S. Hwy 81 south to Nebraska Highway 92. Highway 92 west to U.S. Highway 281 and south following Highway 281 to the Kansas border. Edited and amended to add: "Open burning permits may continue to be issued by fire chiefs or designated fire department members to Irrigation Districts organized under the Irrigation District Act within the State of Nebraska and are not subject to the above suspension..."
