Propane
Propane Emergencies (6 hrs)
This course is designed to increase fire fighter awareness of hazards and operations when dealing with propane. Class is broken into to two 3-hour sessions that allow students the opportunity to gain knowledge of what propane is and how to manage an incident. This course can be offered as a standalone training session or is part of the curriculum for a Firefighter 2 course.

Hazardous Materials Operations (32 hrs)
This course is based on NFPA 472, 2013 edition, Responders to Hazardous Materials/Weapons of Mass Destruction Incidents. This course provides the emergency responder with the knowledge to respond to releases or potential releases of hazardous substances as part of the initial response. The knowledge acquired at the Operations level should enable the responder to contain the release from a defensive method and prevent exposures of the hazardous substance. Practical exercises and teamwork are included and emphasized in this course.
Awareness
Hazmat Awareness Level (6 hrs)
Course Description
This course is based on NFPA 472, 2013 edition, Responders to Hazardous Materials/Weapons of Mass Destruction Incidents. This program is designed to familiarize individuals, who may come upon emergency involving hazardous materials, with the knowledge to initiate a proper sequence of responder procedures and to notify the proper authorities of a potential problem.

Course Description:
This course introduces instructors in the fire service to instructional methodology. Topics to be covered include understanding what training and course objectives are, how to use a lesson plan, methods of instruction, concepts of the adult learning process, administering a test and how to interrupter test results, and the course evaluation process. Participants will use a prepare lesson plan and make presentations to the class. This course meets objectives of NFPA 1041: Fire Service Instructor Professional Qualifications Chapter 4 – Instructor 1.
